Education

DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe - Bilbao

(September 2020 - July 2024, 4 years)

I studied a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in Real-Time Interactive Simulation (BS CS RTIS) at DigiPen Europe-Bilbao.

At DigiPen I was able to learn strong C++ programming skills with it turning into my main programming language.

During my bachelor I was able to work on multiple game projects working with diverse teams of programmers and artists. These games gave me experience on working with different people towards a common goal, using agile methodologies and providing and accepting feedback in a constructive manner… This helping me develop my game programming skills by working with both Unreal Engine 5 and Unity and also working on custom engines, tools, gameplay systems and mechanics.
These are the games I worked on:

  • Senior - Chrono Club3D, Combat Racing. Final year game project using UE5, made in Blueprints.

  • Junior - File Protection Software3D, FPS. Game and engine coded from scratch using a component based architecture coded by ourselves in C++.

  • Sophomore - Veggie Menace2D, Run And Gun. Game and engine coded from scratch using a component based architecture coded by ourselves in C++. This project was made in collaboration with art students.

  • Freshman - Slice Knights: 2D, Platformer. First game I worked on, using Unity and coded in C#.

While developing game projects, I was also able to work on different student projects that allowed me to expand my knowledge.

Experience

Summer C++ Introductory Workshop Teacher

(DigiPen Institute of Technology Europe - Bilbao, June 2023)

I was able to conduct a short C++ introductory course at DigiPen to a class of 15 teenage students who had no previous programming experience. The course started introducing C++ in small steps covering different data types, code flow, functions, logic… During the final days of the workshop they were all able to work on their own small programming projects which were finally showcased to the rest of their classmates.

This experience was very rewarding as the students were able to apply what was taught in class to create their own small projects and they all had a great time during the process.
